Danae（达娜厄）是Argos国王Acrisius的女儿，因为这个国王曾经听到prophecy（预言）说她的儿子将来会杀死他，为了避免后患，就把自己的女儿囚禁在高塔中。

即使被囚禁，Danae的美貌还是被广为传颂，甚至传到了宙斯和奥林匹斯山众神耳中。但是令众神感到气恼的是，Danae被关在囚禁在一座密不透风的青铜塔中，作为众神之神的宙斯决定一探究竟，下凡来到Argos的国度。既然这座青铜塔密不透风，宙斯就幻化成黄金雨从塔顶落入塔中。Danae因此有了Zeus的儿子，他就是Perseus。
